The paper deals with a class of functions which can be presented as the sum of a quadratic function and a lower semi-continuous sublinear function. A sufficient condition is given for such a function to attain its infimum on a polyhedral convex set, if it is bounded from below on this set. Using the above condition, the authors obtain an existence theorem for a generalized complementarity problem arising in non- differentiable programming.
