Modeling an experiment on construing self and others (Q1080393)

In this paper we analyze the results of two repertory grid experiments in which subjects categorized themselves and others on bipolar constructs [the last author and \textit{Y. Rodney}, Can. J. Behavioral Sci. 15, 52-59 (1983)]. We attempt to explain these results on the basis of the assumption that the subjects relied upon a special ''algebraic processor'' for modeling the self and others, previously described by the first author [J. Math. Psychol. 22, 83-120 (1980; Zbl 0445.92024); Algebra of conscience: A comparative analysis of Western and Soviet ethical systems (1982; Zbl 0537.03001); J. Math.
