The author shows how I. M. Vinogradov's theorem on the representation of large odd integers as the sums of three primes can be deduced in an ''elementary'' way from the Siegel-Walfisz theorem without using the Hardy- Littlewood method. One of the basic ideas is to imitate von Mangoldt's function \(\Lambda\) (n) by a certain arithmetic sum. Vaughan's identity is also applied.
