Given any Lie algebra of type \(A_{p-1}\), where p is an odd prime, a set U of \((p-1)/2+(p-1)[p/4]\) even unimodular indecomposable lattices, most of them have no roots, is constructed. For \(p=5\), the famous 24- dimensional Leech lattice appears in this way.
