The author presents a counterexample to eight published conjectures in combinatorial group theory, the topology of 3-manifolds, and spherical diagrams in a 2-complex, all of these conjectures imply the Kervaire- Laudenbach-Howie Conjecture: a non-singular system of equations with coefficients in a group G has a solution in an overgroup of G.
