Some fixed point theorems in Banach space for commuting mappings (Q1081104)

Some common fixed point theorems have been established for a pair of commuting mappings, satisfying a new contractive type condition, on certain subsets of a Banach space. Our results improve the results of \textit{M. S. Khan} [Glasgow Math. J. 23, 1-6 (1982; Zbl 0476.47046)] and \textit{K. Goebel} and \textit{E. Złotkiewicz} [Colloq. Math. 23, 103-106 (1971; Zbl 0223.47022)]. An illustrative example is given in support of our theorems.
