An expression for the reliability of an n-cascade system is derived when the strengths of the various components and the imminent stress on the system are random and follow non-identical probability distributions. Also the stresses on the successive components are attenuated by deterministic but unequal factors. The results for exponential distributions for the stress and strength have been presented with different types of attenuation factors and are compared.
