The authors examine the specific features of the system of integral equations in the problem of excitation of a wave guide array with arbitrary distances between wave guides. They give a simple transformation of the kernel that makes it possible to reduce the problem to a linear algebraic system with a matrix represented by a sum of Toeplitz and Hankel matrices. A technique developed earlier in investigating multilevel matrices is employed for efficient numerical solution.
