We present a numerical procedure for calculating the motion of a freshwater-saltwater interface in a coastal aquifier. The procedure is based on two coordinate transformations which transform the irregularly shaped flow domains into rectangular domains and which replace the moving interface by a stationary boundary. This type of transformation has been applied previously to the case of a single liquid with a free surface in a porous medium.
