Spicher's SB-algorithm revisited - feedback versus feedforward control for inventories (Q1081519)

There exist different approaches to calculate the reorder point for inventory problems having stochastic lead times. On the one hand lead times can explicitly be forecasted whereas on the other hand one can measure fulfilled demand without any reference to lead times. These approaches can be considered as feedforward and feedback procedures respectively. The main object of the paper is a comparison of both methods for different scenarios and criteria.
