We show that the population dynamics of direct life-cycle helminths with a density-dependent fecundity admits either a zero or a nonzero unique stable equilibrium for the mean worm burden. Moreover, for an extended model treating all developmental stages of the parasite's life cycle separately a stability criterion is derived.
