Based on Tresca's yield condition and the associated flow rule, the stress distribution in the fully plasticized hub of a shrink fit rotating with supercritical angular speed is discussed. It is shown that the plasticized hub consists of two parts governed by different regimes of the yield condition. At the inwards moving border separating these parts, the image points in the stress plane migrate from one side-regime through the corner into the adjacent side-regime of the Tresca hexagon. The problem is solved in closed form.
