Generalizing \textit{C. Riedtmann}'s approach to the covering theory for algebras [Comment. Math. Helv. 55, 199-224 (1980; Zbl 0444.16018)] the author shows the existence of covering functors in the sense of \textit{K. Bongartz} and \textit{P. Gabriel} [Invent. Math. 65, 331-378 (1982; Zbl 0482.16026)] for orders and gives some consequences concerning the corresponding Auslander-Reiten quivers.
