The author constructs a module affording the group character described in (IV.4.7) of \textit{W. Feit's} book [The representation theory of finite groups (1982; Zbl 0493.20007)]. In fact, the construction is made in a somewhat more general context. Additionally, \textit{E. C. Dade}'s result [J. Algebra 45, 254-258 (1977; Zbl 0376.20003] on isomorphic blocks is obtained as a corollary to the lemma used for the module construction.
