An exact axially symmetric solution of Einstein-Maxwell equations corresponding to a mixture of a rotating perfect fluid, a source-free electromagnetic field and pure radiation field is derived. The solution discussed by \textit{P. C. Vaidya} and \textit{L. K. Patel} [Gen. Relativ. Gravitation 16, 355-364 (1984; Zbl 0531.53027)] has been derived as a particular case. The details of the solution are also discussed.
