In the following, using the shear deflection theorems by the first author [Bull. Mech. Eng. Educ. 9, 259 ff.], an analysis for short bars with channel section, in which one or more sections have been prevented from warping, has been made and the error in neglecting the influence of shear deflections has been estimated.
