The development of vertical plasma instability in a tokamak with a diverter is modeled numerically. The rigid-shift model and the solution of the linearized equations of magnetohydrodynamics are employed; the models are compared. For a plasma filament with T-12 parameters, passive stabilizing systems of discrete conductors are calculated.
