A system of invariants for some groups of class 2 with commutator subgroup of rank two (Q1083535)

A classification of the following two families of groups of class 2 is given: (i) finite groups whose exponent is not divisible by the square of a prime and whose commutator subgroup has order not divisible by the cube of a prime, (ii) finitely generated divisible groups without torsion with commutator subgroup of rank two. Here a divisible group is called finitely generated if it is generated by a finite set under the operation of multiplication, division and extraction of roots. A complete set of invariants of the isomorphism classes of the two families is described.
