A weakly nonlinear periodic differential equation possessing a first integral is considered. Such a system will have a family of periodic solutions corresponding to a solution curve of the determining equations. The special nature of the determining equations is exploited to construct a Newton iteration scheme converging to the solution curve. The results are illustrated on the example of Hamiltonian systems which contain resonant elliptic behavior.
