The author solves a variant of an inverse problem of queueing theory, specifically, the problem of estimating parameters of a recurrent arrival stream flow from observations on the departure stream, and the problem of estimating parameters of the server from observations on the arrival and departure streams. For the first problem the author finds asymptotically unbiased consistent estimates for the parameters of the arrival stream, and shows, in addition, that additional information on the distribution function of the arrival stream, for instance, the assumption that it is exponential, makes it possible to eliminate observation errors. The second problem can be reduced to the first.
