The authors analyze a model of a gas pipeline with a crack for the steady-state case. The possibility of existence of a stable crack in a pipeline is demonstrated. An approximate formula is obtained for determining the length of the stable crack in relation to the elastic constants of the pipe material and the characteristics of gas flow.
