The author investigates conditions which guarantee that a group-graded ring A with Azumaya identity-graded component \(A_ e\), is itself Azumaya. The ray classes of the title are conjugation classes of certain elements of the finite conjugation subgroup of the grading group G; they are used in the proofs of the main theorems in calculations involving centres of twisted group rings.
