Using his previous results [J. Math. Phys. 26, 836-840 (1985; Zbl 0562.53058)] the author proves that, for an arbitrary gauge group, the perturbation of a solution of the source-free Yang-Mills equations with field strength vanishing along a congruence of two-dimensional totally null surface, suitably correlated with the curvature of space-time, locally is given in terms of a matrix potential satisfying a linear second-order differential equation. Some special cases are investigated. The spinor notation is used throughout.
