The paper deals with the derivation of some partially balanced fractional factorial (PBFF) designs of resolution IV from partially balanced arrays. The designs so derived are shown to be optimal with respect to the generalized trace criterion. The author has generalized the triangular multidimensional partially balanced (TMDPB) association scheme of other workers and called it extended TMDPB. Estimates of main effects and first order interactions are given. The theoretical results are verified through a partially balanced array.
