The conditions for the appearance of a singularity in the course of solving the quasicylindrical approximation equations for a vortex line and expanding the velocity in its neighbourhood, are studied. The appearance of such a singularity was regarded as a signal of vortex breakdown. A classification of possible singularities is given and it is shown that in the general case, when the external longitudinal pressure gradient is given, the solution near the singularity cannot be continued past the singularity.
