For nonlinear control systems \(\dot x=f(x)+g(x)u\), \(y=h(x)\) a new definition of the structure at infinity is proposed. The definition is based on differential algebraic tools. It is stated that this approach forms a generalization of \textit{L. M. Silverman's} structure algorithm for linear systems [see IEEE Trans. Autom. Control AC-14, 270-276 (1969)].
