The author generalizes the concept of analyticity of complex-valued functions on a locally compact group introduced by \textit{H. Boseck} [Bull. Acad. Pol. Sci., Sér. Sci. Math. 29, 213-221 (1981; Zbl 0475.22007)]. Then the class of analytic functions on a compact group is compared with classes of functions with rapidly decreasing Fourier coefficients ({\S} 3, Satz). Two interesting examples illustrate the connections between analyticity properties and behaviour of Fourier coefficients on a solenoid, hence on a compact connected abelian non-Lie group.
