The equation for radiative transfer in spectral lines for an isotropic medium is investigated. It can be represented in the form of a non- homogeneous evolution equation: \[ \partial \psi /\partial \tau =A\psi +f \] whee \(\psi\) is a searched radiation intensity function, f describes sources and A is a closed linear operator on the Banach space of Hölder continuous functions being a perturbation of a multiplication operator with an integral operator. The author developed a functional calculus for A in order to obtain the explicit solution of the problem in terms of eigenfunction expansion.
