The boundary element method (BEM) has been used in various fields, because BEM is convenient in comparison with FEM. BEM does not need domain integral in two-dimensional problems, but generally in unsteady two-dimensional thermoelastic problems the domain integral is necessary. Recently, a method transforming the volume integral in BEM for three- dimensional problems of unsteady thermoelasticity into a boundary integral has been reported [e.g. \textit{J. Mašinda}, Rev. Roum. Sci. Tech., Sér. Méc. Appl. 31, 29-40 (1986; Zbl 0579.73008)]. But the numerical example and numerical accuracy has not been shown in these reports. This paper describes that two-dimensional problems of unsteady thermoelasticity can be easily solved without domain integral by means of combined boundary element and charge simulation methods. In numerical computation this method can avoid the singularity problem; and some numerical examples are shown.
