Geometric quantization of the heavy top (Q1087201)

The author describes the geometric prequantization of the heavy top. In the case of the sleepy top it is shown that one gets geometric quantization in the horizontal polarization. The author also raises the question of interchangeability of reduction and quantization and points out that the additional ''magnetic term'' appearing in the reduction of cotangent bundles is the source of trouble.
