Scattering of SH-waves by a rigid elliptic fiber partially debonded from its surrounding matrix (Q1087357)

In a previous paper [the author, Wave Motion 6, 223-236 (1984; Zbl 0538.73030)] we solved in the long wave limit the problem of the scattering of elastic waves by an elastic cylindrical fiber partially debonded from the matrix in which it is embedded. In this paper we extend the analysis to the elliptic fiber. We then apply the results to the rigid inclusion. We give the far field pattern and the scattering cross section in a closed form for incident SH-waves.
