Nonlinear strain is used to formulate the energy functional of composite structure of several kind of shells. A nonlinear finite element method (N.F.E.M.) is proposed for calculating bending and buckling of the structure subjected to external hydrostatic pressure. The numerical results are found to be in good agreement with experimental ones.
