The paper concerns qualitative aspects of the Plancherel decomposition \(L^ 2(G/H)\) for groups of the form \(G=KS\), S exponentially solvable, normal, and \(H=KS^{\sigma}\), \(\sigma\) an involutive automorphism of S. Among other results, a condition is given for the spectrum to be multiplicity-free.
