The authors provide several conditions equivalent to the statement that A is in the closure of the set of inverses of M-matrices. This result includes several previously known facts about inverse M-matrices as special cases. A related result is that a nilpotent matrix A is the limit of inverses of M-matrices if and only if A is nonnegative and \(A^ 2=0\).
