We investigate methods for efficiently implementing a class of incomplete factorization preconditioners which includes symmetric Gauss-Seidel, SSOR, generalized SSOR, Dupont-Kendall-Rachford, ICCG(0), and MICG(0). Our techniques can be extended to similar methods for nonsymmetric matrices.
