An asymptotic relation for linear, best, and best with restrictions, methods of approximation is studied for periodic functions, by subspaces of splines and trigonometric polynomials of fixed dimension. Estimates of deviation between approximations of fixed elements from a normed space by splines and polynomials are obtained.
