For estimating the ultimate form-changing energy \(U^*_ f\), needed for computing the fracturing with a separation of elastoplastic bodies into parts according to Guber-Mises-Hencky failure theory, experiments with breakaway destruction under two-dimensional collision of plates can be used which register the thickness and speed of the breakaway platelet. The value of \(U^*_ f\) is defined by comparing the results of a single numeric calculation of the collision process and the empiric data.
