The author analyzes the general energy theorems for many-particle systems from a new point of view. He distinguishes between the microscopic and macroscopic motion of the system; this discrimination is relevant for the energy theorems. On this basis a new definition of the quantity of heat is introduced without the notion of temperature. Consequently the first law of thermodynamics is formulated in a new manner. The last part of the paper is devoted to some examples.
