On a 2-generated infinite 3-group: Subgroups and automorphisms (Q1091468)

This is the second of two papers [for the first see the preceding review] dealing with aspects of a certain 2-generator infinite 3-group G defined by the author and N. D. Gupta as a group of automorphisms of an infinite tree. In this second paper he investigates the subgroups and conjugacy classes of G with a view to determining the automorphism group A of G. He shows after lengthy analysis that A is a split extension of H by a Klein 4-group, where H is in turn a split extension of G by an infinite elementary abelian 3-group.
