The method of transformation of the boundaries for forming the admissible displacements (Q1091843)

The method of transformation of the boundaries for forming the admissible displacements with various boundary conditions is presented. What is called method of transformation of the boundaries is: first the actual system is transformed into a basic system and additional boundary forces and displacements on the basis of the superposition principle, then variational principles are applied to the basic system, finally the permissible displacements of the actual system are found by means of the method of transformation of series. We also give mixed energy principles under variation of boundary conditions. Applying the method we form the permissible displacements for rectangular plates in plane stress and for bending problems with various edge conditions.
