We consider the strongly stratified two-fluid system, which consists of two superimposed incompressible inviscid fluids with a free surface and a horizontal rigid bottom. Based on the generalized Boussinesq equations derived in the second author's paper, Sci. Sin., Ser. A 27, 507-520 (1984; Zbl 0545.76023), the second approximate solutions of cnoidal waves have been obtained by using the PLK method and reductive perturbation method.
