On the identification of neural responses (Q1091972)

A further investigation of a model of restricted neural networks proposed by the first author in a previous paper, ibid. 34, 159-169 (1979; Zbl 0409.92003), is carried out. Answers are given to the following \(problems:\) P\({}_ 1:\) Given the input and the network, is it possible to construct each cell's spike train? - completely positive \(answer;\) P\({}_ 2:\) Given the input and the response profiles, is it possible to reconstruct the neural network? - on some realistic preconditioning - a fully positive \(answer;\) P\({}_ 3:\) Given the network and the threshold spike train for each cell, is it possible to find the response profile set and the input signal? - no unique answer.
