The time-varying systems considered in this paper are two-dimensional time-invariant systems: this makes their exact identification possible. Given the two-dimensional pulse response sequence, nice formulas for the state space model matrices based on Hankel matrix factorization are derived. Moreover, the formulas are extended to a reduced order model.
