The construction of mixed modules from torsion-free modules (Q1092124)

All modules are unitary R-modules over an associative and commutative ring R with unit element. After a collection of results on prescribed endomorphism algebras of torsionfree modules and some results on cotorsion hulls the authors construct a functor G from the category of torsionfree modules to the category of mixed modules. This functor enables to derive some new results related to endomorphism algebras of mixed modules. Some applications of the results obtained are given at the end of the paper.
