Coupled second order boundary value problems (Q1092630)

This paper presents a method of finding approximate solutions of a coupled pair of boundary value problems. These estimates are found using variational theory with a functional which incorporates the boundary conditions. Consequently the trial functions are not constrained to satisfy the boundary conditions but these conditions are enforced for the exact solution. References are given for the numerical procedures involved and the truncation errors, and an example is given.
