The design of an infinite impulse response 2-dimensional filter is discussed when disposing of the squared magnitude of the digital transfer function over a lattice of points. The advantage of the proposed method consists in obtaining a linear programming problem instead of a nonlinear one as one usually gets in other design procedures. Convergence of the proposed algorithms are proved, and finally some numerical examples are presented.
