Let O(A,B) be the orbit of the feedback equivalence (A,B)\(\approx (S(A+BT^{-1}K)S^{-1},SBT^{-1})\) of pairs of matrices. The author establishes criteria for \(O(A,B)=O(A',B')\) and O(A',B')\(\subset \overline{O(A,B)}\) in terms of Kronecker indices of the pairs and relates his result to the Gerstenhaber-Hesse-link theorem [\textit{M. Gerstenhaber}, Ann. Math., II. Ser. 70, 167-205 (1959; Zbl 0168.281)].
