Distributional solutions of the hypergeometric differential equation (Q1093783)

This paper presents solutions of the form \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}a_ n\delta^{(n)}(x)\) for the hypergeometric equation concentrating especially on the confluent hypergeometric differential equation and extending the method to considerations for the solution of the general one. The solutions derived are studied in order to designate their intrinsic importance, to display their uses and, finally, to exhibit their interrelations with results of similar methods used in the theory of ordinary differential equations.
