As to the paper by \textit{R. Hempel}, \textit{A. M. Hinz} and \textit{H. Kalf} [ibid. 277, 197-208 (1987; Zbl 0629.35028)] (see the preceding review), the author gives alternative and direct proofs of Theorem 1, and one half of Theorem 2, i.e. the part that \(\sigma_ e(T)\) includes the interval [ind \(\sigma\) \({}_ e(t),\infty)\).
