The authors have introduced a general concept of biological interaction which is consistent with the mathematical theory of separable functions. It is shown that the operations defined for non interaction response functions include the special case of additivity and its generalization by transformation into linear spaces. This approach is more general because of its application to the studies of any jointly acting forces other than genetic and biological problems. It is hoped that this approach will find applications in many more areas.
